The game

The daily game is free to play. We may change, add or remove puzzles, features and rewards, including glosses, badges and ranks, at any time. Glosses and other rewards have no cash value and cannot be bought, sold or transferred.

Accounts

An account is optional. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Please do not use a display name that impersonates someone else or is offensive. We may remove such names or close accounts that abuse the service.

Fair use

Do not try to break, overload or reverse the security of the service, and do not automate play to manipulate scores or challenges.

Wanderwort Plus

Plus is an optional subscription that removes ads from Wanderwort, adds seven glosses (hints) every day and makes Map Drill and other extra games unlimited. Free players get a limited number of extra-game runs each day, which may change. The price is shown before you pay and charged by Stripe, monthly or yearly as you choose, and it renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your profile; Plus then stays on until the end of the period you already paid for. The daily game stays free for everyone. Plus is sold by the company named at the end of our privacy page.

Content and licence

The etymological data is adapted from Wiktionary and shared under CC BY-SA, as described on the sources page. The game's design, code, artwork and our own written text remain ours unless stated otherwise.

No warranty

Wanderwort is provided as it is. We work to keep the routes accurate, but etymology is an evolving field and the game is entertainment, not a reference work. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from its use, including lost progress.

We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version.
